DC Nidhi rmphasises fast-track development, timely reporting

Reasi| :  District Development Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik Thursday chaired a review meeting to assess the saturation of developmental indicators and interventions in Aspirational Block Thakrakote under the NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Block Development Programme.

DDC Nidhi Malik took a detailed review of improvements achieved in health services, women and child development, social development, agriculture and allied activities, education and basic infrastructure development. The Functionaries from respective departments presented detailed progress reports on the initiatives undertaken in the block.

While appreciating consistent improvements in certain indicators, the DDC directed departments with slow progress to put in extra efforts to enhance overall performance.

DDC Malik laid special emphasis on the accurate and timely reporting of data on the ABP portal. The Officers were instructed to ensure data reconciliation and monthly verification with great precision before uploading, so that the achievements and interventions are correctly reflected in official records.

The DDC issued strict directions to the BDO Thakrakote to initiate and fast-track the recovery of PMAY houses under the non-starter category, in coordination with revenue officials.

For financial inclusion, the DDC directed the banking sector to prioritize the opening of bank branches in Thakrakote and to enhance the network of Banking Correspondents (BCs), ensuring better access to banking services for local residents.

The DDC instructed BSNL officials to accelerate BharatNet connectivity in the gram panchayats of Thakrakote block and to address any bottlenecks immediately.

The education sector was tasked with taking punitive action in schools showing low performance while the CEO and ZEO were directed to conduct regular inspections to improve admission rates and academic results. The DDC further directed the CEO to address the shortage of teaching staff and improve learning outcomes.

The newly appointed Aspirational Block Fellow was also briefed and instructed to maintain close liaison with all departments to ensure accurate reporting and timely resolution of queries.

The DDC concluded the meeting with a strong message of accountability, timely implementation and coordinated efforts across departments to accelerate the developmental progress of Aspirational Block Thakrakote.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, CPO Narinder Kumar, PO POSHAN, ACD, CMO and other concerned officers.
