Srinagar | : The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Kashmir on Thursday seized a significant amount of contraband and apprehended individuals involved in drug-related crimes.
A targeted operation in Naina Batpora, District Pulwama, led to the recovery of 56 kilograms of Charas Powder, which was cleverly concealed to evade detection. The operation resulted in the immediate arrest of Gul Mohd Mallah, a local resident, and the registration of a case under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations are ongoing to explore the supply chain connections. In a related incident in Kulgam, police intercepted two suspects Mohd Yaseen Sheikh and Shahid Ahmad Sheikh, during routine patrols. During search 4.458 kilograms of a cannabis-like substance were recovered from the possession of the said accused following which the said accused were arrested besides which a case was filed at Police Station Qazigund. Police in its statement reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding narcotics offenses, reinforcing their proactive stance in combating drug trafficking in the region.
