New Delhi: Air Chief Marshal AP Singh on Wednesfay emphasized the significance of ‘Operation Sindoor’ during the 93rd Indian Air Force Day celebrations, highlighting its demonstration of how precise air power can swiftly influence military outcomes.
Addressing air warriors at the 93rd Indian Air Force Day celebrations at Hindon Air Base, the Air Chief Marshal said that disciplined operations, empowered leadership, and the use of indigenous technology were crucial in executing the operation, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following a terror attack in April 2025. The operation resulted in substantial damage to enemy military installations and reaffirmed the offensive role of air power in national security. Singh praised the meticulous planning and execution of the mission, which showcased the effectiveness of indigenously developed platforms and weapons. He pointed out that India’s long-range missile systems and integrated air defense architecture played a vital role in restricting enemy movements and ensuring the safety of Indian assets. The Air Chief also highlighted a growing culture of accountability and readiness within the force, driven by leadership that empowers air warriors through training and motivation. The celebrations at Hindon Air Base included a display of India’s aerial strength, featuring advanced fighter jets such as the Rafale and Sukhoi Su-30MKI, as well as indigenous systems like the Akash Surface-to-Air Missile. The event also paid tribute to the MiG-21 Bison, recognizing its long service to the IAF. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their greetings to Air Force personnel, acknowledging their dedication and bravery in safeguarding the nation. The parade underscored the IAF’s operational readiness and technological advancements, reinforcing its humanitarian role over the years.
