Srinagar | :Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Anantnag, Kupwara, Budgam &Awantipora and recovered huge consignment of narcotic substance from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that it has arrested one the Gh Nabi Bhat from Sehgund Saller for hoarding a significant quantity of narcotics, specifically 24.700 kilograms of Ganja, at his residence in Srigufwara. Stating that following a tip-off, a case was registered, and an investigation is going on Police in its statement further said that in a separate incident in Kupwara, one Tariq Sajad Khan was arresed at a checkpoint in Wayen, where a substantial amount of Charas was found in his possession, adding therein that a case has been registered under FIR No. 318/2025, and an investigation is underway. Police in its statement further said that in Budgam alsi two suspects identified as Mohd Yaseen Rather and Muzaffar Ahmad Malik were arrested after they attempted to flee from a checkpoint at Hakermulla, adding therein that the search yielded 7.63 grams of a heroin-like substance and two mobile phones. Stating that in Awantipora also police raided a house in Chersoo based on reliable information, recovering 16 kilograms of Bung Powder and 26 grams of Charas from Aqib Rashid Sheikh’s residence who was arrested and is currently in custody Police in its statement reiterated its commitment to combat drug-related issues strict action against offenders.
