Srinagar | : The Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) on Wednesday expressed deep concern regarding the non-payment of salaries to National Health Mission (NHM) employees and paramedical staff, who have not received their wages for the past four months.
Stating that these workers play a vital role in healthcare, often operating under challenging conditions EJCC Chairman Aijaz Ahmed Khan in a statement issued here on Wednesday said that withholding salaries employees is triggering a humanitarian crisis and as such is a violation of basic human rights. EJCC Chairman emphasized that timely payment of salaries is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and the ongoing denial of wages constitutes injustice and exploitation of those dedicated to public health. In his statement Khan highlighted the unfairness of leaving frontline healthcare workers struggling for survival without their salaries. He called upon the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to intervene promptly to ensure the immediate release of the overdue wages, stressing the need to restore the dignity of healthcare workers. The EJCC Chairman also extended its full support to the NHM and paramedical staff until their legitimate demands are met, standing in solidarity with them during this critical time.
