DC Srinagar inspects initiation of work on construction of SDM Office East, Tehsil Office Eidgah

Srinagar | : In order to augment the Revenue infrastructure in the district, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Tuesday inspected the initiation of works on construction of new Office for SDM East and Tehsil Office Eidgah  in order to modernize & augment the Revenue setup to enhance public service delivery.

The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the progress of works on Construction of new Tehsil office, Khanyar.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, SDM East, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Executive Engineer R&B Core, Shuja Ahmad, Tehsildar Eidgah, Mohammad Iqbal, Tehsildar Khanyar Syed Shahid and other concerned Officers.

During the inspection, the DC reviewed the quality and pace of work on the key projects, emphasizing the importance of timely completion and adherence to quality works to ensure efficient functioning of these key Administrative. He underlined that in order to create a more efficient and citizen-friendly work environment, Revenue infrastructure is being further strengthened across the District.

While reviewing pace of construction works on Tehsil Office Eidgah, the DC was apprised that the upcoming Revenue Office Complex is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 63.51 lakh by R&B department. He further was informed that the new Office building for Eidgah Tehsil will comprise of Tehsildar Room, Tehsildar court Room, Waiting Room/Area, Naib Tehsildar Room, Staff Room, Meeting Hall, Computer Room, Establishment Room and a modernised Record Room.

On the occasion, the DC directed the executing agency to expedite the pace of work while maintaining high construction standards and completing the project under set timelines.

The DC also took stock of ongoing works on the building of Tehsil Office Khanyar being executed by R&B Department at a cost of Rs 60 lakhs in  Sheher-e-Khaas of the district. He reviewed the progress of structural work, finishing, internal services (electrical, plumbing, etc.) and directed for further accelerating the pace of remaining works so that Tehsil Office is made functional before the onset of winter season.

Adjacent to the Khanyar Tehsil Office, construction has commenced on a new building to house the Office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) East, The DC was informed that plinth work will be completed by the first week of October 2025.

Later, the DC visited JLNM Hospital Rainawari to inspect the ongoing works on Bio-medical waste shed being executed by R&B department to support the safe and scientific disposal of hospital biomedical waste, contributing to improved hospital hygiene and environmental safety.
