Sewa Parv: Distt admin Pulwama organises mega outreach camp at Sangerwani

Pulwama | :  As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, district administration Pulwama Monday organised a mega public outreach camp at Sangerwani, bringing together a wide range of government departments and services under one roof.

Departments including Education, Social Welfare, Labour & Employment, Cooperatives, Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Forest and others had set up stalls at the venue that facilitated on-the-spot registrations, enrolment of beneficiaries, scheme consultations, grievance redressal and dissemination of information.

Health department also organised a medical camp under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, providing free health check-ups, screenings and awareness.

The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. S.M. Ashraf. He emphasised the essence of Sewa Parv, which lies in serving the people and ensuring that welfare schemes reach every household.

Dr Ashraf highlighted the series of activities being undertaken across the district during the campaign, while stressing the importance of cleanliness and behavioural change to achieve the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

He further urged locals, particularly women, to benefit from the medical camps being organised under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, stressing regular health check-ups to prevent anaemia, lifestyle disorders and other illnesses common in the region.

The occasion also featured cultural programmes, student speeches, and awareness campaigns on cleanliness, hygiene, drug de-addiction, and welfare schemes. A plantation drive was carried out to reinforce the themes of environmental protection and community service.

The outreach event witnessed overwhelming public participation and was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Pulwama; Chief Education Officer, Pulwama; concerned Block Development Officers & Tehsildars, and other district and sectoral officers.

Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing Sewa Parv activities across the district, plantation drives, cleanliness drives, and awareness camps continued with active community participation.

Rural Development department organised awareness programmes on cattle dung management and vermi-composting at panchayat level while the Education department held yoga and fitness sessions in schools to promote physical and mental well-being among students.

In addition, free medical camps were organised at PHCs, CHCs, and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan. These camps provided free screenings for anaemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, blood pressure, and lifestyle-related illnesses, along with awareness sessions on maternal and child health, nutrition, and menstrual hygiene.
