Says “Action Plan finalised for 5,061 new houses sanctioned for calamity-hit families”

Jammu |:  Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, Monday chaired a meeting to review the overall performance of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, implementation of recently approved Special Package under PMAY-G (Awaas Plus) by the Union Ministry of Rural Development was also discussed in detail and action plan for same was also finalized.

The package allocates 5,061 houses for the rehabilitation of households affected by natural calamities, specifically floods, in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Secretary took stock of the beneficiary registration process for this special package. He directed officials to swiftly complete the identification and uploading of eligible beneficiaries’ details using the Awaas+ 2024 Mobile App, in line with the laid down framework.

The meeting also held detailed assessment of the completion status of both pending and ongoing houses under the broader PMAY-G scheme.

Emphasizing the need for timely execution, Aijaz Asad instructed officers to accelerate all processes to meet the established targets.

While commending the outstanding performance of several districts where completion rates have exceeded 98%, Secretary urged others to emulate this success by addressing bottlenecks and improving their metrics.

He directed all the officers to immediately clear all pending Fund Transfer Orders (FTOs) to ensure beneficiaries receive funds without delay.

The Secretary mandated the expedited resolution of these cases and issued strict instructions for all Assistant Commissioners of Development (ACDs) to compile and submit a beneficiary-wise list of technical issues under IAY in the prescribed format by tomorrow.

The meeting was attended by Director RDD Kashmir, Shabir Hussain Bhat; Director RDD Jammu, Shahnaz Akhter; Joint Director Planning, Kamal Kumar; all Assistant Commissioner Developments (ACDs), Block Development Officers(BDOs) and other senior officers of RDD.
