Srinagar | : Police on Monday conducted awareness programs regarding new criminal laws in Awantipora and Budgam as part of the ongoing ‘Sewa Parv’ celebration.
In Awantipora, the event took place at the Government Higher Secondary School Khrew, led by SDPO Pampore RP Singh and SHO Police Station Khrew Inspector Naieem Rashid. In Budgam, the program was held at DPL Budgam and included an essay competition and quiz session aimed at educating students about recent legal reforms. Approximately 35 students and faculty members from Oxford School of Education Budgam participated, along with police personnel. During these sessions, participants were informed about the three new criminal laws, focusing on significant changes, citizen-friendly provisions, and their importance in ensuring speedy justice. Police officials emphasized the need for public awareness and cooperation in the effective implementation of these laws to foster a safer and more law-abiding society.
