IRP 24th Bn hosts sports conclave at Mini Stadium Udhampur to mobilize, fortify & empower youth

Udhampur | :  The IRP 24th Battalion in strategic convergence with the District Youth Services & Sports Department Udhampur, ceremoniously flagged off a multi-disciplinary sports conclave Monday at the Mini Stadium Udhampur under the  civic action Programme  of J&K Police.

The inaugural event signaled the commencement of rigorous competitions in badminton, volleyball, and cricket, conceived to galvanize youth across divergent age cohorts. The initiative is meticulously calibrated to inculcate a culture of discipline, resilience and constructive rivalry, while decisively insulating young minds from the scourge of narcotics and other societal aberrations.

Amod Ashok Nagpure, Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and was accorded a ceremonial reception by Mohd. Aslam, Commandant IRP 24th Battalion.

In his address, the SSP delineated the indispensability of channelising youthful energy into sports, terming it a transformative instrument for character building, physical invigoration and communal solidarity.

The Commandant IRP 24th Battalion, in his resonant address, accentuated that sporting pursuits not only serve as an antidote against deleterious influences like drug addiction but also fortify self-esteem, invigorate morale and provide an exalted platform for latent talent to transcend local boundaries and attain laurels at higher echelons.

The august ceremony was dignified by the presence of an array of eminent personalities Iftikar Choudhary, Dy. CO IRP 24th Battalion, Neeraj Bhargav, District Information Officer Udhampur, Nihar Ranjan, Dy. CO IRP 24th Battalion

Romesh Mishra, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Udhampur, Dr. Anil Manhas, Chief Medical Officer Udhampur,  Sanjay Gupta, District Social Forestry Officer, Ashok Kumar Chairman Kabaddi Association Udhampur, Senior functionaries of the Youth Services Department, including Vikas Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Naveen Sharma, Amit Sharma and Jatin Sethi Sanjeev Khajuria

Prominent representatives of the civil society, who stood in unison with the initiative, extending unequivocal support and encouragement to the participating youth.

The dignitaries, in consonance with civil society members, extolled the vision of the tournament and unveiled a meticulously designed competition matrix ensuring broad-based inclusivity, structured participation and equitable opportunities.

As a symbolic reaffirmation of environmental stewardship and community service, a plantation drive was jointly undertaken by the SSP Udhampur and the Commandant IRP 24th Battalion.

The tournaments shall progress in the ensuing days and are poised to attract robust public engagement and spirited participation. By fusing its security mandate with proactive community engagement, the Civil Action Programme of J&K Police continues to epitomize its resolute commitment to nurturing safer, healthier and drug-resilient societies in Udhampur.
