Doda | : Government Degree College, Kastigarh organized an awareness lecture on Nasha Mukht Abhiyan under the guidance of the Principal, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra.
The programme was aimed at sensitizing students about the harmful effects of drugs and intoxicants on academic performance, health and overall quality of life. The initiative was a part of ongoing efforts to build a drug-free society and create responsible youth who can contribute positively to the nation.
The keynote address was delivered by Assistant Professor Psychology Dr. Anupam Lata, who highlighted the destructive impact of substance abuse on individuals, families and society at large. She explained how drugs such as alcohol, tobacco and narcotics are becoming dangerously common among students and young adults. Dr. Lata stressed the need not only to say “No to Drugs” but also to educate peers and support those struggling with addiction. Her lecture also focused on psychological strategies to overcome addiction and the importance of community-based support system.
As part of the event, a poster-making competition was held where students showcased their creativity through powerful messages. Posters with themes such as “Say No to Drugs,” “Healthy Youth, Strong Nation,” and “Life is Beautiful without Drugs” reflected the determination of young minds to stand against substance abuse. The winners of the competition, Bhabita Devi (1st), Sonika Devi (2nd) and Sandeep Singh (3rd) were appreciated for their impactful contributions.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged actively in discussions and shared their views on the subject.
