The Director Law Enforcement J&K, S. Balbir Singh, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Kashmir, Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, ADLE Kashmir, along with representatives of fertilizer companies from Kashmir Division, joined the deliberations through video conferencing.

The deliberations covered diverse issues including availability and distribution of fertilizers across J&K, stocks held at company godowns and their updation on the MFMS portal, renewal of licenses of fertilizer wholesalers and retailers on the IFMS portal, deployment and activation of LI PoS devices as per the latest guidelines, the present status of PMKSKs (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras) in theUT, liquidation of PoS stocks held in the DBT portal and tagging of Nano Urea and other products with subsidized fertilizers. The matter of excess stocking reflected in the MFMS portal, particularly in the Kashmir valley, and the functioning of PoS machines was also discussed at length.

Speaking at the meeting, Director Agriculture Anil Gupta asked the stakeholder functionaries to work in close coordination to resolve fertilizer-related issues and ensure real-time updation of stocking data on the MFMS portal. Taking serious note of certain irregularities at the wholesale level, he instructed the enforcement agency of the department to investigate the matter thoroughly and take strict action against violators. He emphasized that fertilizer is the most critical input for agricultural and horticultural crops, and any lapse in its timely stocking and supply is unacceptable.

Director Agriculture stressed on the 100% deployment and activation of LI PoS devices as per the new guidelines and directed that all stakeholders ensure compliance in a time-bound manner so that fertilizer distribution across the Union Territory remains smooth, transparent and farmer-friendly during the Rabi season.
