Srinagar : The body of a man hailing from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, who had been missing for over a week, was recovered from a shop in Srinagar on Monday, officials said.
An official said that the body of a resident of Kupwara was found inside a shop near the BSNL Exchange Office in Srinagar.
He said the man had gone missing on September 21 and a missing report had been lodged at the nearest police station.
The official added that the body was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Pathan, son of Mohammad Akbar Pathan, resident of Minigah, Kupwara.
He further said the body has been sent for medico-legal formalities while investigations have been initiated
