Surinder inaugurates mega job fair under Mission Yuva at Convention Centre Jammu

Jammu | : A Mega Job Fair was held in Jammu under the Mission YUVA initiative, organized by the Employment Department of Jammu and Kashmir. Inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, the event saw active participation from job seekers, employers, government officials, and academic institutions.

Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the importance of Mission YUVA as a transformative movement aimed at empowering the youth and enhancing job opportunities for educated individuals in the region. The Mega Job Fair marked a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to equip the youth of Jammu and Kashmir with essential tools and resources for success in a changing socio-economic environment. Mission YUVA is described as a flagship initiative that provides a comprehensive ecosystem for employment, entrepreneurship, and skill development, including institutional support and financial assistance for new and existing enterprises. The event attracted over 2,200 job seekers and featured participation from more than 55 companies offering over 1,500 job vacancies across various sectors such as IT, manufacturing, finance, retail, and healthcare. A key highlight was the launch of three major platforms on the Mission YUVA app and portal, including an Online Job Matching Platform for real-time employer-job seeker interactions, an Enterprise Mentorship Initiative for aspiring entrepreneurs, and an ONDC-based E-commerce platform for enterprises to market their products. The fair also promoted entrepreneurship, with 55 young entrepreneurs receiving sanction letters under Mission YUVA’s credit-linked schemes to establish their ventures. Additionally, the YUVA UDHYAM FEST celebrated youth potential through competitions, recognizing 264 winners with cash prizes and certificates. The event concluded with a comprehensive overview of Mission YUVA’s vision by Shahzad Alam, Director Employment, and a vote of thanks from Paramjeet Singh, Joint Director Employment, Jammu.
