Budgam | :  District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam organized an awareness programme on the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day’ at Khag.

The event was held under the supervision of O.P. Bhagat, Chairman, DLSA, Budgam, and the guidance of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary, DLSA Budgam.

The primary objective of the programme was to raise global awareness about the social, cultural, political, and economic significance of tourism, and its vital role in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The day also sought to foster intercultural understanding, promote responsible and sustainable travel practices, and highlight tourism’s contribution to economic growth and global prosperity.

PLVs deputed by DLSA Budgam as resource persons highlighted the legal aspects of tourism, with a special focus on tourists’ rights and protections, including consumer rights, safety regulations, and mechanisms for dispute resolution.

They also deliberated on legal challenges relating to tourism, such as the protection of cultural heritage and addressing environmental concerns.

The programme aimed at educating the general public about the significance of tourism and its legal dimensions.
