Doda |:  The Mission YUVA – UDHYAM Fest, a two-day celebration of youthful vigor, ingenuity, and enterprise, culminated Saturday with a grand felicitation ceremony held here at Town Hall Doda.

Organized by the District Employment & Counselling Centre Doda under the aegis of Mission YUVA, the fest witnessed spirited participation from 149 competitors representing various colleges and higher secondary schools, and an overall attendance of over 500 students and budding entrepreneurs from across the district. The event featured four flagship competitive categories — Quiz, Essay Writing, Speech and Painting — designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity, creativity and entrepreneurial consciousness among the youth.

The competitive events were conducted on 26th September 2025 at Government Polytechnic College Doda under the supervision of  Senior Lecturer and Officer In-Charge Ajay Thappa, along with his dedicated cohort of faculty members.

At the valedictory function, winners and runner ups were lauded and felicitated  with cash awards of ₹5,000, ₹3,000, and ₹2,000, respectively.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh   extolled the Employment Department for orchestrating the fest with remarkable precision and fervor. He observed, “The UDHYAM Fest has generated widespread awareness among youth, particularly college students, who have participated with overwhelming zeal and acquired profound insights into Mission YUVA and the expansive self-employment avenues made available by the Government.”

A pledge under the Swachh Bharat Mission was solemnly administered to all participants and dignitaries, reaffirming their collective resolve toward cleanliness, civic responsibility and nation-building.

Additional District Development Commissioner Roshan Lal and Deputy Director Employment also addressed the audience, invigorating students to cultivate entrepreneurial temperament and harness their latent potential.

The ceremony culminated with a vote of thanks, followed by an oath of self-reliance, wherein students pledged allegiance to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Jammu & Kashmir.
