More-than 700 students benefit from donation drives; intensive cleanliness, plantation & welfare awareness Progs held
Shopian | : Sewa Parv campaign in district Shopian Friday achieved another milestone with a wide spectrum of activities focused on education, cleanliness, livelihood support, and social welfare.
The day was marked by community-driven initiatives that reinforced the values of service, responsibility, and collective participation.
Education department spearheaded a donation drive of books and clothes across the schools of the district, benefitting more than 700 students, encouraging a culture of sharing and compassion.
Agriculture department facilitated interactions with successful entrepreneurs, inspiring farmers and youth to adopt innovative practices in line with Friday’s Sewa Parv theme of entrepreneurship and self-reliance. Horticulture department provided technical guidance to orchardists at Imamsahib and Hermain and distributed plant protection machinery in Zone Keller, helping farmers adopt modern and sustainable practices.
Rural Development Department mobilized community participation by encouraging eco-friendly practices during festivals, promoting Swachh Bharat Mission branding and strengthening Reduce-Reuse-Recycle (RRR) centers. Municipal Council Shopian, under Swachhata Hi Seva and Sewa Parv, organized an intensive cleanliness drive at Natoo and Sangloo Nallah, which saw the active involvement of ULB staff, Swachhata Executives, volunteers, and sanitary workers.
CAHO Shopian, along with field officers and scheme beneficiaries, emphasized awareness about departmental schemes, online application handholding, technical support, and the benefits of establishing self-employment units in livestock and poultry sectors.
Forest Department, Forest Protection Force and Social Forestry, in collaboration with Sunrise Public School Sedow, carried out a plantation drive at Ladigasan, engaging students in green activities.
District Social Welfare office organized an awareness-cum-registration camp at DarbaghZainapora, covering pension schemes, senior citizen programmes, marriage assistance, OSC services, child helpline, women helpline, and Poshan initiatives.
Alongside these, other departments also performed their scheduled activities, ensuring that the spirit of Sewa Parv continues to touch every corner of the district
