Poonch | : In a spirited display of community service and environmental commitment, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Poonch, in collaboration with the Forest Department, Friday organized a plantation drive followed by a friendly cricket match under the ongoing Sewa Parav campaign, being observed from 17th September to 2nd October.
The event was graced by ADDC Pankaj Magotra as the Chief Guest, who commended the organizing departments for its proactive role in engaging youth and promoting sustainable practices through such meaningful initiatives. He emphasized the importance of involving young minds in social and ecological activities as part of the nationwide SEWA PARAV campaign.
Officers from the Forest Department also participated in the event and highlighted the significance of the plantation drive as a crucial step toward environmental conservation.
The In-charge Manager, Sports Council Poonch, Mushtaq Ahmed, along with his team, took an active part in both the plantation drive and the cricket match. The event was held under the overall supervision of DYSSO Poonch, Mohd Qasim, and Incharge Vijay Kumar. ZPEO Kunyian, Kuldeep Kumar served as the nodal officer for SEWA PARAV.
At the grassroots level, the seamless management and coordination of the day’s events were ensured by Pervaiz Ahmed Rek and Amit Kumar Rek, both Physical Education Teachers.
The ongoing SEWA PARAV campaign continues to witness a series of impactful programs daily, aimed at fostering a culture of service, awareness and active community participation among youth and citizens alike.
