The meeting brought together senior officials from banks and various government departments.

Discussions focused on evaluating credit flow under government-sponsored schemes, financial literacy efforts, and achievements in priority sectors such as Agriculture, Horticulture and MSMEs. Key schemes reviewed included the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), PM Mudra, PMFME, NRLM, social security schemes and programs promoting entrepreneurship.

The DC also reviewed Mission YUVA and various schemes of financial inclusion, including the Spurring initiative, PMJJBY, PMJDY, APY and others stressing their importance in empowering youth, expanding social security coverage, and ensuring inclusive growth.

He expressed concern over the slow progress by some banks, particularly private banks, in the priority sector and directed them to improve their performance and meet set targets promptly.
