DLRC Meeting; DC Kishtwar reviews implementation of Mission YUVA, Financial Inclusion Schemes

Kishtwar |:  To review the district’s financial and developmental progress, a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting for the quarter ending June 2025 was held Friday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma .

The meeting brought together senior officials from banks and various government departments.

Discussions focused on evaluating credit flow under government-sponsored schemes, financial literacy efforts, and achievements in priority sectors such as Agriculture, Horticulture and MSMEs. Key schemes reviewed included the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), PM Mudra, PMFME, NRLM, social security schemes and programs promoting entrepreneurship.

The DC also reviewed Mission YUVA and various schemes of financial inclusion, including the Spurring initiative, PMJJBY, PMJDY, APY and others stressing their importance in empowering youth, expanding social security coverage, and ensuring inclusive growth.

He expressed concern over the slow progress by some banks, particularly private banks, in the priority sector and directed them to improve their performance and meet set targets promptly. He emphasized the importance of supporting agriculture, allied sectors, HADP, small enterprises, and women-led businesses.

To strengthen financial outreach, the DC instructed the Lead District Manager (LDM) to prepare a Camp Calendar and Convergence Plan for door-to-door awareness and service delivery.

These camps will be conducted in coordination with banks and relevant departments to bring services closer to the people and create awareness regarding the on-ground implementation of various schemes.

Reviewing the first-quarter performance, the DC directed all departments and banks to work in close coordination to promote entrepreneurship, ensure timely loan disbursement, and remove any barriers to project implementation.

The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar Akhil Thakur, LDM Harsh Rawal,AD Handicrafts Kishtwar Pardeep Shan, LDO RBI Amandeep Singh, and representatives from various departments and financial institutions.
