Awantipora | : Police on Friday said that it has arrested three gamblers in Khrew and seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a specific inputs about gambling activities in Khrew area, a police party of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO Police Station Khrew under the supervision of SDPO Pampore raided the specific spot and arrested three gamblers identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Shah S/o Gh Ahmad Shah R/o Panthachowk Srinagar, Showkat Ahmad Ganie S/o Gh Mohd Ganie R/o Dangarpora Nowgam Srinagar and Manzoor Ahmad GurooS/o Mohd Sultan GurooR/o Sambarbugh Nowgam Srinagar. Stating thatbstake money of ₹25,630/- and playing cards were also seized from the possession of the said accused Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 71/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khrew besides initiating further investigations.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
