Kishtwar | :   The Day 09 of Sewa Parv 2025 witnessed a vibrant display of civic responsibility, environmental consciousness and community engagement activities across Kishtwar district.

A major highlight of the day was a Mega Painting Competition organised at the historic Chowgan Ground, jointly by the Chief Education Office, Municipal Council and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who creatively expressed themes related to cleanliness, environmental conservation and social harmony.

Adding to the momentum, the Municipal Council Kishtwar led a Plog Run followed by a spirited Swachhta Rally in collaboration with the Government Boys Higher Secondary School.

The initiative aimed to amplify the message of sanitation, waste management, and the collective duty of citizens towards a cleaner society.

In alignment with the broader objectives of Sewa Parv 2025, several impactful initiatives were undertaken across District Kishtwar.

The Municipal Council conducted intensive door-to-door awareness drives focusing on waste segregation, promotion of the Swachhata App and encouraging the reduction of single-use plastics. These efforts were coupled with the promotion of the PM SVANidhi Scheme, aiming to empower local street vendors through access to micro-credit and digital inclusion.

A First Aid Training Workshop was organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Nagseni, where students received practical, hands-on training in CPR and other life-saving techniques. The session was facilitated by teachers and health professionals, highlighting the importance of first-response skills in emergency situations.

The Health Department organised a series of health camps and awareness programs on menstrual hygiene under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, with a special focus on women’s health and overall family well-being. These initiatives aimed to promote preventive healthcare and break the stigma surrounding menstrual health.

The ICDS Department also organized counseling sessions on optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, with a strong focus on complementary feeding in all Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) across the district.
