Srinagar | : Range Police Headquarters Srinagar, in collaboration with Amar Singh College (Cluster University) Srinagar on Thursday organized a speech competition on Thursday at the BCA Hall to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The event, themed “Sardar Patel’s Policy of National Integration is Still Relevant,” aimed to engage students in reflecting on the values of unity, discipline, courage, and leadership exemplified by Patel, known as the ‘Iron Man of India.’ Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, delivering thought-provoking speeches in multiple languages, including English, Urdu, Hindi, and Kashmiri. The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr) Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, Principal of Amar Singh College, highlighted the lasting significance of Sardar Patel’s vision for national integration, asserting that his contributions remain unparalleled. The event also featured notable guests, including Prof. G.M. Nengroo, HoD of the Department of Chemistry, and Prof. Shahnawaz Muntazir, NSS Programme Officer, among others, who emphasized Patel’s ideals of integrity, self-determination, and commitment to national unity. Peer Zahoor, Staff Officer to DIG CKR Srinagar, delivered a significant speech on Patel’s crucial role in India’s independence and integration, stressing the importance of fostering a positive Police-Public relationship and embracing Patel’s principles. Prizes were awarded to top performers, and certificates of participation were distributed to all participants, concluding with a vote of thanks from the Chair.
