Srinagar | :Police on Tuesday said that it has recovered a significant quantity of contraband from a shop in village Watalpora, Beerwah.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Beerwah received specific inputs about the storage of narcotic substances in a shop at Watalpora for illegal sale to the local youth, adding therein that a police party from Police Station Beerwah, accompanied by the Executive Magistrate raided the said shop and during the search recovered approximately 4 kilograms of contraband substance (Ganja) from the possession of one Saddam Yousuf S/o Mohammad Yousuf Mir R/o Watalpora, Beerwah, who was subsequently arrested. Stating that a case under FIR No. 132/2025, U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Beerwah besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to extend their cooperation in curbing the menace of drugs and report any information regarding drug peddling or other criminal activities to the nearest police establishment.
