Jammu | :  The Literary Club of GGM Science College recently celebrated Literary Day as part of the Seva Parv initiatives by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. A key feature of the event was a Storytelling Session aimed at promoting the Adult Literacy Program. Participants shared poignant stories reflecting the struggles, trauma, resilience, and ultimate triumph associated with learning to read and write, underscoring literacy’s transformative power as a means of empowerment and freedom.

The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, the College Principal, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in raising awareness about adult education. He articulated that literacy transcends mere skill acquisition; it is a vital tool for dignity and self-reliance, enabling individuals to escape the cycles of ignorance and dependency. The session was overseen by Dr. Jatinder Kour and coordinated by Literary Club members with the assistance of student volunteers. Ms. Manmeet Kour effectively led the proceedings, while Dr. Yasmeen Mughal concluded the event with a sincere vote of thanks to all contributors and participants. This celebration not only honored the essence of literacy but also motivated the student body to actively engage in fostering an inclusive and educated society.
