Bhaderwah | : As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv-2025 campaign, the District Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with local officials organised a series of inclusive activities and awareness initiatives in Bhaderwah. The programme aimed to promote empowerment and social inclusion of specially-abled individuals.
The activities included a wheelchair race, chess competition and other recreational events designed to engage specially-abled persons, senior citizens, and members of the local community. The events not only encouraged physical and mental engagement but also fostered a sense of confidence, belonging and enthusiasm among the participants.
Later, an Awareness-cum-Distribution Camp was organized at the Tehsil Social Welfare Office. The camp focused on educating the public about various welfare schemes, including pension, marriage assistance and other social benefits. Officials guided participants regarding eligibility, application procedures and scheme benefits, while also addressing individual queries. The camp concluded with the distribution of assistive devices among specially-abled persons, enhancing their mobility and quality of life.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Qazi and in the presence of Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Shahnawaz Ahmad. The initiatives were widely appreciated by participants and attendees, who lauded the efforts to create an inclusive and supportive environment, reinforcing the values of empathy, community spirit and social responsibility.
