Says” J&K Police The First Police use eSakshya application”
Jammu: Director General Jammu & Kashmir Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Monday said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police have become the first police force in India to implement the eSakshya application, enhancing transparency in the justice system.
Speaking at a three-day exhibition on new criminal laws organized by the EOW Crime Branch Jammu, he emphasized the importance of raising public awareness, particularly among youth, about the new laws that have replaced colonial-era statutes. DGP Prabhat highlighted that these laws empower citizens and improve the efficiency of justice delivery through technology. He praised the J&K Police for their commitment to implementing these laws effectively and in a timely manner. The exhibition aims to educate the public on the provisions and benefits of the new legal framework, with plans for similar events in every district of J&K to ensure widespread dissemination of information. The inaugural event attracted a large audience, including students and scholars, eager to learn about the new criminal laws. This exhibition, the first of its kind in Jammu, will run until September 24, showcasing various stalls related to the new laws, including the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. The event is supported by multiple police and government units, reflecting a collaborative effort to engage the community and bridge the gap between citizens and law enforcement.
