Jammu | : A one-month Cutting and Stitching Training Programme was Monday inaugurated at Block Pargwal in collaboration with RSETI (SBI) under the livelihood initiatives of JKRLM. As many as 35 persons have enrolled for the training.
The training is aimed at benefiting Self Help Group (SHG) members from the border Panchayats of Gurha Manhasa, Pindi, Hamirpur and Pargwal, where livelihood opportunities are limited. By imparting tailoring and stitching skills, the programme seeks to create sustainable income avenues and promote self-reliance among rural women.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, in presence of Assistant Commissioner Anmol Rathore, BDO Pargwal, Director RSETI (SBI) Sunny Goja, RSETI Faculty Member Sheetal and Block Programme Manager JKRLM, Namneet Kour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of skill-based training at the block level to ensure wider participation and practical exposure. He urged the trainees to take full advantage of the programme and work towards achieving financial independence.
Dr Minhas assured that further support would be provided by the district administration for facilitating their entrepreneurial ventures.
