Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
1. LG Sinha Inaugurates Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital Centre in Srinagar
Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated a new centre of Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in Srinagar today. He called upon the hospital and medical fraternity to ensure accessible and affordable healthcare for all, particularly by connecting specialists with patients in rural and remote areas of Jammu & Kashmir.
2. MP Yusuf Pathan Meets CM Omar
Srinagar| Sept, 17: Member of Parliament and former cricketer Yusuf Pathan called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The Chief Minister appreciated his contribution to Indian cricket and conveyed best wishes for his public life and future endeavors.
3. LG Sinha Attends National Seminar On Integration In Indian Languages
Srinagar| Sept, 17: The Lieutenant Governor attended a national seminar on “Integration in Indian Languages,” organized by NIT Srinagar and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, highlighting the importance of linguistic unity and cultural integration.
4. CM Omar Reviews NH-44 Situation In VC With Nitin Gadkari
Srinagar| Sept, 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended a video conference with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, officials of MoRTH and NHIDCL, and J\&K government officials to discuss the condition of NH-44. Immediate instructions were issued to address the crisis and restore smooth truck movement.
5. LG Sinha Participates In Women’s Health Campaign At JLNM Hospital
Srinagar| Sept, 17: As part of the national campaign “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar,” LG Sinha visited JLNM Hospital Rainawari, distributing fruits to patients to promote women’s health and community service during ‘Sewa Pakhwada,’ celebrating PM Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday.
6. CM Chairs Meeting On Telecom Network Expansion in J&K
Srinagar| Sept, 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting to discuss improving telecom coverage and extending services in J\&K. He emphasized bridging connectivity gaps, with IT Minister Satish Sharma and Advisor Nasir Sogami in attendance.
7. LG Sinha Virtually Inaugurates Bailey Bridge On Ramban-Gool Road
Srinagar| Sept, 17: LG Sinha inaugurated a Bailey Bridge connecting Ramban, Sangaldan, and Gool areas, benefiting approximately 1.5 lakh residents by improving connectivity and facilitating ease of living.
8. CM Omar Visits Kalaban, Poonch
Srinagar| Sept, 17: The Chief Minister visited Kalaban, Poonch, to assess damage caused by land subsidence. He sanctioned ₹38 lakh in immediate relief to affected families, in addition to ₹50 lakh under SDRF, and reaffirmed government support.
9. CM Presides Over Closing Ceremony Of TechKnow-2025
Srinagar| Sept, 16: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presided over the TechKnow-2025 closing ceremony at Delhi Public School Srinagar, praising student innovations including humanoid robots and emphasizing government support for AI and technology-driven education.
10. LG Sinha Attends Jashn-e-Dal Water Sports Event
Srinagar| Sept, 17: LG Sinha attended the closing ceremony of Jashn-e-Dal, a water sports event organized by Jammu & Kashmir Police, aimed at youth engagement and promoting unity, harmony, and camaraderie among athletes.
11. LG Flags Off First Dedicated Parcel Train From Budgam To Delhi
Srinagar| Sept, 15: LG Sinha flagged off the first dedicated parcel train from Budgam to Adarsh Nagar, Delhi. The service will enable efficient transport of apples from the Union Territory to different parts of the country, benefiting local growers.
12. CM Omar Inaugurates Transport Bhawan, Srinagar
Srinagar| Sept, 15 : The Chief Minister inaugurated the Transport Bhawan, an integrated hub to streamline transport-related services, ensuring convenience for citizens and stakeholders.
13. CM Omar Attends 58th Engineers’ Day Celebrations
Srinagar| Sept, 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the 58th Engineers’ Day at IEI J\&K State Centre, paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya and stressing the vital role of engineers in nation-building.
13. CM Omar Inaugurates Gulmarg Convention Centre
Gulmarg| Sept, 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the state-of-the-art Convention Centre at Gulmarg, expected to boost tourism, promote MICE activities, and create opportunities for local youth and businesses
