Awantipora | : The Centre for Wellness Health (CWH), in partnership with the Office of the Provost and Boys Hostel on Friday conducted an awareness programme as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan initiative.
The primary objective of the programme was to educate hostel residents about the various health, psychological, and social repercussions of substance abuse. During the session, Dr. Zahida Rasool, a Medical Officer, addressed the medical implications of drug abuse, while Ms. Urooj Manzoor, a Counsellor at CWH, discussed its mental and social effects. Dr. Shaiqa Nasreen, the Coordinator of CWH, underscored the significance of collective responsibility in fostering a drug-free environment. Additionally, Dr. Zahid Khaki, Provost of Boys Hostel, engaged with students and facilitated discussions to enhance understanding. The programme included a documentary screening that reinforced the anti-drug message, culminating in students pledging their commitment to maintaining a drug-free campus.
