Plantation drives organised across Jammu Division Schools to celebrate Sewa Parv 2025

Jammu : The Directorate of School Education Jammu, in collaboration with the Social Forestry Department, Friday transformed its premises into a theatre of green resolve by organizing a plantation drive under the banner of Sewa Parv 2025.
The drive commenced with the Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, leading from the fronts by planting the first saplings, joined by the senior officers of the Directorate. Their gesture was swiftly mirrored by the Directorate staff, affirming that the health of tomorrow does indeed rest in the shade of what we plant Friday.
Dinesh Joshi, Range Officer represented the Social Forestry Department Jammu, accompanied by staff members of the department, who lent both expertise and solidarity to the initiative—turning the act of planting into a shared civic and moral enterprise.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chowdhary observed: “A sapling is a silent promise—a covenant between us and generations yet unborn. As we plant, we do not merely adorn the soil, we safeguard air, water, and the rhythm of life itself. I urge every teacher to kindle in their pupils this reverence for the green, for the forest is a book that teaches patience, resilience, and balance. To students I say: plant with your own hands, nurture with your own heart, and watch how a tiny stem grows into a living guardian of your tomorrow.”
In resonance with this vision, parallel plantation drives were carried out across schools of Jammu Division, where teachers guided and students participated, thus extending the ethos of Sewa Parv 2025 from the Directorate to the very classrooms where the future takes root.
The Directorate underscored that the plantation drive is not to be read as a mere ceremonial observance, but as a collective pledge—by officers, teachers, and students alike—to align human duty with nature’s rhythm. In the greening of courtyards and classrooms, the spirit of Sewa Parv 2025 found its truest expression.
