Jammu | : The PG Department of the University of Jammu has been crowned champions of the Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Men) Tournament for the 2025–26 season, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education.
The tournament concluded with a thrilling grand finale at the Gymnasium Hall, showcasing the competitive spirit and traditional essence of Kabaddi through remarkable performances from all participating teams. In the semi-finals, the PG Department triumphed over GDC Kathua by a margin of seven points, while MIET College narrowly defeated GDC Bhaderwah by three points. GDC Kathua secured third place by defeating GDC Bhaderwah in a commendable display of teamwork and determination. The final match saw the PG Department demonstrate exceptional skill and tactical prowess, defeating MIET College by eight points to claim the championship trophy. Their victory was characterized by a strong defense and effective raiding strategies. The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education recognized the efforts of all teams, awarding trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up, and commending the sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament. The event was attended by prominent faculty members and officials, reflecting the University of Jammu’s commitment to fostering a sports culture. The tournament was overseen by Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, ensuring its smooth execution with a focus on discipline and fair play.
