Arrangements reviewed for Navratra, Dussehra, Rammavami festivals at Reasi

Reasi: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik Friday chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Navratra and Dussehra celebrations in the district.
Representatives of Durga Natak Mandli, Reasi, also attended the meeting, apprised the DC about their scheduled programmes during the festival, including staging of Ram Leela, Dussehra Festival and the Parikrama Yatra of Mata Vaishno Devi Parvat.
The meeting deliberated in detail on the arrangements for sanitation, security, power and water supply, besides repair of streetlights to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities.
DC Nidhi Malik directed BDOs and the EO MC to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation in the town and rural areas during the festivals. She instructed the Chief Medical Officer to depute adequate medical staff and an ambulance at the General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium on Dussehra day. She also directed the Fire Department to deploy a fire tender at the venue as a precautionary measure.
In addition, the PDD department was directed to ensure availability of electricity during the Ram Leela events. The PHE department was asked to deploy water tankers to provide safe drinking water for the participants. The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti was tasked with making barricading arrangements at the Ram Leela Ground.
DC Reasi assured that the District Administration is fully committed to providing all necessary facilities in a safe and festive manner. She also urged the Durga Natak Mandli to spread awareness on the theme of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyanduring the Ram Leela performances and on Dussehra day to sensitize the public against the menace of drug abuse.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, ADC Rakesh Kumar, CMO, XEN PWD and the President and Members of Durga Natak Mandli, along with other officials were present.
