Srinagar | : Police in Handwara on Thursday conducted an awareness programme focused on the newly introduced criminal laws within the Police District.
The initiative utilized audio-visual presentations at key locations, such as Main Chowk Handwara and Main Chowk Vilgam, successfully engaging a large audience. The programme aimed to simplify the understanding of the new legal framework for citizens from diverse backgrounds. Key provisions of the new criminal laws were highlighted, particularly those that impact the safety, dignity, and rights of citizens. Police officials emphasized the reforms’ objectives, which include delivering speedy justice, enhancing law enforcement, and providing better protection for vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly.
