Reasi : The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) on Wednesday organized the Inter-District Division Level Wushu U17 & U19 Girls Championship here at the Indoor Sports Complex Reasi.
Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The District YSS Officer welcomed the guests and extended greetings to all the participating districts of Jammu Province.
The DC congratulated the young athletes and commended their zeal, discipline, and sporting spirit. She encouraged the participants to showcase their talent with determination and fair play, highlighting that sports not only enhance physical fitness but also empower young girls to excel in diverse fields of life.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also announced the launch of “Sewa Parv” in the District. She underscored that Sewa Parv is a national initiative to celebrate service as the truest expression of patriotism, aligned with the Ministry of Culture’s vision of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” (Development as well as Heritage). The initiative aims to instill cultural pride while nurturing a sense of social responsibility, ultimately contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of expert officials deputed by DYSSO Reasi, including Dheeraj Salaria, Ranjeet Verma, Vinod Singh, Madhu Rani, Rajan Kumar, Abrar Ahmed, Surbhi Anthal, and Sonali Sharma, while coordination was managed by Jagdev Singh and Kuldeep Raj.
The event concluded on a high note, with participants and dignitaries appreciating the spirit of sportsmanship and the platform provided to nurture young talent of the Jammu Division.
