Srinagar | : J&K Police, in collaboration with S.R Theatre Ganderbal and Government Degree College Ganderbal on Wednesday organized a Drug De-Addiction Awareness Programme aimed at combating drug abuse and raising awareness among youth.
The event, chaired by SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, saw active participation from students, faculty, theatre artists, and police officers. During the programme, experts discussed the detrimental effects of drug addiction on individuals’ physical and mental health, family dynamics, and societal well-being. They emphasized the crucial role of youth in fostering a drug-free environment and encouraged students to act as ambassadors of change within their communities. A skit performed by theatre artists illustrated the severe consequences of drug addiction and highlighted the importance of seeking help through rehabilitation and counseling. SSP Poswal urged the youth to focus their energies on positive activities such as education, sports, and cultural pursuits, stressing the importance of community cooperation in eradicating the drug menace. The event concluded with participants pledging to avoid drugs and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
