Awantipora | : The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) organized a program titled “Harnessing Data Science in Clinical Health: Statistical Approaches for Longitudinal Data” as part of its Alumni Connect Program.
The event featured a lecture by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Shah, an alumnus and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toronto, who discussed the application of advanced statistical methods in clinical health, focusing on the analysis of longitudinal data, including diet and microbiome studies for early disease detection. Dr. Shah highlighted the crucial interdisciplinary role that Mathematics and Data Science play in tackling health-related challenges. Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, the Head of the Department, noted that interactions with alumni enhance the academic environment and motivate students by presenting them with global research opportunities. The program also included a discussion that encouraged active participation from students and researchers, fostering engagement and collaboration within the academic community.
