DC Kishtwar reviews execution of R&R Plan in HEP Project affected areas

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma Tuesday reviewed the Local Area Development Plan (LADP) under the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan in the areas affected by Hydroelectric Power Projects (HEPPs) in District Kishtwar.
The review covered four major projects: Kiru HEPP, Pakal Dul HEPP, Ratle HEPP and Kwar HEPP.
The meeting focused on reviewing the physical and financial progress of local area development activities, as well as the social and community development packages of HEPPs under the R&R Plan.
The DC reviewed each component in detail, assessing the implementation status of individual works under the LADP of the R&R Plan. Taking note of the slow pace of certain works, the DC directed the concerned Heads of Departments (HODs) to expedite the execution and ensure completion of the same in a time-bound manner.
The DC also directed to seek explanation from the concerned officer(s) for unjustified delay in completion of certain key developmental works. He stressed on the need for accountability and proactive monitoring at all levels.
The DC directed the Jal Shakti Department to submit estimates for eight new water tankers (five large and three small) to address the water scarcity problem in the town and its peripheral areas.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of adhering to guidelines and completing the works within the stipulated timelines, highlighting that these projects are intended for the welfare of the general public, particularly the Project Affected Families (PAFs).
The Meeting was attended by CAO Kishtwar Kushal Chandel, CEO Kishtwar Sanjay Dogra, CHO Kishtwar Sajid Mustafa, ExEn PWD Kishtwar Ravinder Verma, ExEn JPDCL Kishtwar Latif Wani, AD Planning RDD Kishtwar, BDO Nagseni besides other Senior Officers.
