DYSSO Samba launches major Inter-Zonal Sports tournament with anti-drug pledge

Samba :  The District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Samba, under the guidance of Director General Anuradha Gupta, successfully launched the Inter Zonal District Level Gatka, Fencing and Wrestling Competition for Under-19 boys and girls here at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Monday.
The prestigious tournament, meticulously supervised by DYSSO Dharmvir Singh along with ZPEO, has drawn enthusiastic participation from 67 talented athletes from across five zones of the District. The competition features 20 participants in Gatka, 31 in Fencing and 16 in Wrestling, showcasing the diverse sporting talent of the region.
A significant highlight of the event was the administration of a pledge to all participants, committing to increased sports participation while maintaining a strict stance against drug abuse. This initiative underscores the department’s commitment to promoting both physical excellence and moral values among youth.
The tournament represents a major step forward in nurturing young athletic talent and fostering a culture of healthy competition in the district. The dedication and sportsmanship displayed by participants exemplify the true spirit of the event, contributing to its overwhelming success.
