Srinagar: A meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the celebration of ‘Sewa Parv’ and ‘Angikaar-2025’ was Monday convened under the chairmanship of Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb, here.
Commissioner emphasized that ‘Sewa Parv,’ scheduled to be observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, reflects the spirit of public service, community participation, and collective responsibility. He further underlined that ‘Angikaar-2025,’ continuing through the end of October, is aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and promoting sustainable development initiatives across the city.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the proposed activities, awareness campaigns, and outreach programs to ensure maximum involvement of citizens and stakeholders. Commissioner directed all concerned officers to work in close coordination and ensure that the activities are conducted in an organized and impactful manner.
It was informed that as part of the celebrations, several initiatives will be undertaken under flagship schemes of the Government of India, including PMAY-U, PM SVANidhi, DAY-NULM, AMRUT, NCAP and SBM 2.0. These will encompass housing facilitation and awareness under PMAY, support and credit linkages for street vendors under PM SVANidhi, livelihood promotion through DAY-NULM, awareness on water conservation and urban infrastructure under AMRUT, air quality improvement campaigns under NCAP, and intensified cleanliness and anti-plastic drives under SBM 2.0.
Senior officers of the Corporation and representatives from allied departments were present in the meeting and shared their valuable inputs.
Commissioner called all participants to ensure smooth execution of the planned activities, while reiterating the significance of spreading awareness about various welfare schemes and encouraging active community participation
