Speakers throw light on life, teachings of Prophet (SAW)

Srinagar : Kashmir witnessed a vibrant display of faith and devotion as massive spiritual rallies and processions were held across the valley to celebrate the Friday following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), the birth anniversary of Prophet (SAW).
From southern Anantnag to the central and northern districts, roads and rooftops turned green as thousands of people marched carrying flags, reciting praises, and sending salutations upon the Prophet (SAW).
A group of devotees said, “The whole atmosphere is soaked in love and peace. It felt as if the valley itself was echoing blessings upon the Prophet (SAW).”
Similar processions were reported from parts of Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla and Shopian, where residents joined hands in reciting naats and chanting slogans of peace and unity. Many shopkeepers and local transporters voluntarily paused their work to join the rallies.
“This gathering is not about any individual or organisation. It is about our collective devotion,” said Shabir Ahmad, a shopkeeper from Anantnag. He said the green flags represent their love, and the message is one of brotherhood.
Meanwhile, security and traffic arrangements were put in place to ensure the smooth passage of the processions, which remained peaceful throughout the day.
Religious scholars who addressed the gatherings urged people to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in their daily lives, describing his message as one of compassion, justice and harmony.
“The best way to honour our Prophet (SAW) is to embody his teachings — kindness, honesty and mercy towards all,” said one of the clerics while addressing a gathering at Hazratbal in Srinagar.
Naats continued to echo from mosques and shrines, and illuminated streets reflected the fervour that swept across the valley
