Ramban : Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta, Friday conducted an extensive review of traffic regulation and condition of Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) in the district. DySP Traffic, Sajjad Khan also accompanied the team during the inspection.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Nashri to take stock of vehicular movement and assess the prevailing situation. The visit focused on identifying bottlenecks, ensuring smooth vehicular flow and enhancing road safety and commuter convenience on this vital lifeline.
During the review, the DC held discussions with concerned officers and agencies to formulate strategies for strengthening traffic management, minimizing congestion and improving interdepartmental coordination.
The DC stressed the importance of prompt measures to facilitate hassle-free travel for commuters, especially on NH-44, which plays a crucial role in maintaining connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the progress on construction of the Bailey Bridge on the Karol–Maitra–Gool road at Bhatti being executed by the Army. He interacted with Army engineers on site and reviewed the progress of the work. The DC pointed out various bottlenecks on National Highway and directed the NHAI to clear that bottleneck at the earliest.
