Bandipora: SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) Mission Shakti, Social Welfare department Bandipora, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bandipora, successfully organized an exposure visit to SKUAST-Wadura Sopore for girls identified by the JK Association of Social Workers (JKASW) from different areas of Hajin block, interested in agriculture and allied sector.
The program commenced with an informative session and a detailed PowerPoint presentation delivered by the faculty of SKUAST-Wadura, highlighting modern agricultural practices, career opportunities in agriculture, and the role of women in agri-entrepreneurship.
On the occasion, participants were taken on a walk through the experimental fields of the university, where they observed various ongoing research activities and diverse crop cultivations. The Dean highly appreciated the initiative of SANKALP HEW Mission Shakti taken under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign to inspire and empower girls through hands-on exposure to agriculture.
With this successful exposure visit, SANKALP HEW Mission Shakti, Social Welfare department Bandipora, concluded its 10-day special awareness campaign organized in collaboration with different departments across various sectors in Bandipora district, aiming to build capacities, create awareness, and connect young girls with avenues for skill development and self-reliance.
