Srinagar : The University of Kashmir (KU) launched on Thursday India Skills Competition Awareness Campaign in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) to motivate and prepare youth for the upcoming India Skills Competition 2025.
The campaign was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan at the Main Campus, with notable attendees including academic and administrative leaders from KU and officials from JKSDM. Prof. Khan emphasized the importance of the competition as a platform to showcase the talent and creativity of youth, encouraging students to participate confidently and represent their university and region. She announced that KU will act as an academic partner for the competition, providing expert mentors to assist competitors in their preparation and training. A significant feature of the launch was the introduction of the Skill Vahan, a specially designed vehicle that will travel throughout the region to promote awareness of skill-based opportunities associated with the India Skills initiative. The India Skills Competition 2025, organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), is the largest skill-based event in the country, encompassing 63 skill categories. The competition aims to identify and honor India’s top talent, with winners given the opportunity to represent the nation at the World Skills Competition 2026, thereby gaining international recognition.
