Srinagar: Police in Awantipora, led by SDPO Raja Majid and SHO Inspector Ajaz Hmad on Wednesday initiated a verification drive targeting SIM card vendors within their jurisdiction.
The initiative is part of a broader initiative to ensure the authenticity of documents submitted by subscribers and to confirm that SIM vendors comply with government guidelines. The police in a statement issued in this connection emphasized the importance of verifying SIM connections to enhance public safety and security, appealing therein people to report any suspicious activity or irregularities related to SIM card sales or usage.
