Jammu : Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr. Rakesh Minhas Saturday released financial assistance of Rs. 1 crore 63 lakh 78 thousand in favour of 3595 wards of registered construction workers.
The financial assistance has been provided under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board schemes, covering death, funeral assistance, chronic assistance as well as educational assistance.
ALC Dr. Rupali Jasrotia highlighted the core objective of the BOCWWB schemes. She said the schemes offer financial assistance under different components to support the registered construction workers.
The Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of the Labour Department in extending financial support to economically disadvantaged laborers. He emphasised the need to ensure that the maximum number of beneficiaries avail the government welfare schemes.
Stressing the administrative commitment, the DC stated that the economic and social security of the labour class is a top priority. He further stated that the initiative also aims to enhance the economic potential of laborers, ensuring their financial stability.
