Minga directs cleanliness drives, health camps, social outreach & awareness on flagship schemes
Baramulla : Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa on Wednesday convened a meeting to finalize arrangements for the Seva Parv, a nationwide initiative set to take place from September 17 to October 02, 2025.
The fortnight-long program aims to enhance citizen-centric governance by improving service delivery, raising awareness about public welfare schemes, and ensuring access to essential services throughout the district. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Assistant Commissioner Development and municipal Executive Officers to initiate Swachhata drives across all 402 panchayats and 93 urban wards in Baramulla. Community plantation drives and awareness campaigns on citizen services are also to be conducted concurrently. The School Education department was tasked with implementing education-focused initiatives, including beautification projects and voluntary extra classes for students. The importance of social outreach was emphasized, with instructions for the Social Welfare department to engage with vulnerable populations, particularly by visiting old-age homes and providing meals to those in need. To bolster health services during Seva Parv, the Health department was directed to organize health check-up camps and blood donation drives across all district blocks. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the necessity of awareness camps on key government beneficiary schemes, such as PM-Kisan and Ayushman Bharat, and called for financial literacy camps to educate citizens about welfare schemes and banking services. He underscored that Seva Parv presents an opportunity to bring governance closer to the people, fostering inclusive development and active community participation. All departments were urged to collaborate closely to ensure the program’s effectiveness and benefits for all societal segments. The meeting included key officials such as the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Planning Officer.
