Heartfelt Devotion: Emotional Scenes as Holy Relic Appears After Prayers
Srinagar: The Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar became a focal point of spiritual devotion on Saturday as thousands gathered to celebrate Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. The shrine, located by the scenic Dal Lake, saw large crowds arriving from late Friday night for night-long prayers, Qur’anic recitations, and supplications.
Witnesses said that emotional scenes unfolded after Fajr prayers when the holy relic, Moi-e-Muqqadas, believed to be a part of the Prophet, was displayed to the congregation. This event occurred five times throughout the day, eliciting profound emotional responses from the attendees, who expressed their devotion with cries of “Allahu Akbar” and tears of joy. Devotees described the experience as deeply spiritual, with many expressing that a glimpse of the relic brought them peace and a sense of connection to their faith. The authorities implemented extensive arrangements to facilitate the gathering, including traffic management, reliable electricity and water supply, and medical services, while ensuring security for the participants. Similar gatherings were reported at various other shrines and mosques across the Valley, where people engaged in special prayers with equal enthusiasm, reflecting a widespread commitment to honoring the Prophet.
