Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-

1. LG Reviews Flood Situation At Raj Bhavan

Jammu|Sept, 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan Jammu to review flood rescue operations, restoration of essential services, and preparedness of UT agencies, central forces, Army, NDRF, and CAPFs amid incessant rains and floods. Expressing anguish over cloudbursts and landslides in Reasi and Ramban, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and assured all possible assistance.

2. CM Reviews Flood Rescue , Relief Operations

Jammu|Sept, 1: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan Jammu on flood rescue and relief operations. He expressed anguish over cloudbursts and landslides in Reasi and Ramban and assured all possible assistance to affected families.

3. LG Felicitates Buddha Peace & Ambedkar Awardees

Srinagar|Sept, 2 : LG Manoj Sinha felicitated International Buddha Peace Awardees and Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Awardees, calling their contributions an inspiration reflecting the spirit of service to society.

4. CM Felicitates Peace & Ambedkar Awardees

Jammu|Sept, 2 : CM Omar Abdullah felicitated International Buddha Peace Awardees and Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Awardees, highlighting their commitment to peace, equality, and social justice.

5. LG Thanks PM, FM For GST Reforms

Jammu|Sept, 3: LG Manoj Sinha welcomed Next-Gen GST Reforms, thanking PM Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He said the reforms will empower MSMEs and farmers, accelerate manufacturing, and improve ease of living and doing business.

6. CM Welcomes GST Reforms

Jammu|Sept, 3 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the Next-Gen GST Reforms. He said the reforms will strengthen India’s economy and benefit MSMEs and farmers.

7. MBBS Seats Increased In J&K:

Jammu|Sept, 4 : LG Manoj Sinha thanked PM Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister JP Nadda for increasing MBBS seats in J&K Government Medical Colleges from 1,185 to 1,375. He said the move enhances access to affordable and quality healthcare.

Srinagar|Sept, 4 : CM Omar Abdullah expressed gratitude for the increase in MBBS seats across Government Medical Colleges in J&K. He said the move ensures accessible and quality healthcare for UT residents.

8. J&K Gets First Ayurveda PG Courses

Jammu|Sept, 5 : LG Manoj Sinha expressed gratitude for 35 Ayurveda PG seats at Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor, calling it a “huge gift for J&K.” He said the new programmes will strengthen healthcare, research, and global outreach of traditional medicine.

9. Ayurveda PG Courses A Milestone for J&K: CM

Jammu|Sept, 5 : CM Omar Abdullah thanked PM Narendra Modi and Union MoS (I/C) Ayush Prataprao Jadhav for granting 35 Ayurveda PG seats at Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor. He said the programmes will strengthen traditional healthcare and promote preventive and holistic care.

10. J&K Universities Shine In NIRF Rankings

Srinagar|Sept, 5 : LG Manoj Sinha congratulated J&K universities for their performance in NIRF-2025 rankings. University of Kashmir secured 34th rank and University of Jammu 51st, while SKUAST-K and SKUAST-J ranked 7th and 23rd in Agriculture. IIT Jammu, NIT Srinagar, IIM Jammu, and SMVDU also figured among top institutes.

11. J&K Varsities Shine In NIRF Rankings

Srinagar|Sept, 5 : CM Omar Abdullah congratulated universities of J&K for strong NIRF-2025 performance, highlighting University of Kashmir (34th) and University of Jammu (51st), along with top positions of SKUAST-K, SKUAST-J, IIT Jammu, NIT Srinagar, IIM Jammu, and SMVDU.
