Participants from across India to attend intensive football coach education Prog
Srinagar: A 10-day AFC “B” Diploma Coaching Course commenced on Friday at the University of Kashmir, aimed at enhancing coach education and promoting professional football training in the region.
Organized by the All India Football Federation in collaboration with the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports and the Football Players’ Association of India, the course features 24 participants from various regions of India, including North, South, Central, and the North-Eastern states. The program focuses on modern training methodologies, advanced coaching techniques, and updated practices for aspiring football coaches. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan emphasized the significance of the initiative in nurturing sporting talent and highlighted the university’s commitment to integrating sports education with academic excellence. She noted that partnerships with organizations like AIFF and FPAI provide valuable exposure and opportunities for youth in sports. Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chishti, Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education, praised the Directorate for its impactful activities and recognized the course as a crucial advancement in football coaching at the national level. Additionally, Prof. Musavir Ahmad, Head of the Department of Linguistics, acknowledged the university’s expanding collaborations with national sporting bodies. Dr. Surjeet Singh, Coordinator of DPES, reiterated the Directorate’s dedication to enhancing coach education and skill development in football. The inaugural ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including administrative officers, coaches, AIFF officials, and veteran footballers.
